North Queens Mission and Vision

Mission

North Queens Community High School is a partnership between the New York City Department of Education and SCO Family of Services that is committed to working with overage and under-credited young people and their families. In a community that is collaborative, caring, and rigorous, young people are supported towards achieving their highest personal and academic goals. Using the best youth development practices, we provide a personalized learning environment that connects, motives, and inspires our young people to overcome obstacles and graduate with a high school diploma and a specific plan for college and career. Our students will leave us with the knowledge and skills necessary to forge a positive future for themselves and become contributing members in their community.

Vision

North Queens Community High School is committed to the growth and success of our students both academically and socially. Academic courses are offered in English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, Physical Education, and various electives. In the vocational area, we offer courses to introduce students to the world of work and provide them introductory job experiences for which they can receive credit or paid internship experience. We offer individual and group counseling to promote positive decision making as students move towards their high school diploma
